Every year Reading Solutions for All holds a contest among classes using the Reading Plus program in southeast Missouri.  Students in each class must average 100 completed lessons during the school year to be entered into the drawing.

In May of 2016, Tana Bringer’s fourth grade class at Eugene Field Elementary in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, won the drawing and received $300 for a class celebration and school supplies.  Bringer’s class also showed remarkable achievements in their MAP test scores for the year.

Bringer’s class was a Tier 3 Reading Intervention class, meaning her students were not performing at grade level at the beginning of the year.  But with her rigorous approach to teaching and the Reading Plus program, eighty percent of her students improved their MAP test reading scores from basic or below basic levels to proficient or advanced levels.  Her fourteen students also read 2,000,000 words by the end of the year!  Simply amazing.

We congratulate Ms. Bringer’s class on their hard work during the 2015-2016 school year, and are proud to have Tana on our Learning Lab tutoring team!
